No. 16 Florida Survives Arkansas' Comeback Bid, 35-27

October 6, 2018

Game Report Posted: November 16, 2018 04:21

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Led by 3 touchdown passes by quarterback Felipe Franks, the undefeated Florida Gators (4-0) beat the Arkansas Razorbacks (4-2) 35-27 despite Arkansas scoring 27 unanswered points. The Gators were up 35-0 at one point and were up 35-3 at the half. After halftime, the Gators offense went stagnant, only crossing midfield once (the final drive which ended the game). The Razorbacks were able to find success on the ground as Devwah Whaley averaged 5.4 yards per carry. With 2 minutes left in the game, Arkansas scored and had 3 timeouts, however, for the first time in the second half, were unable to force a punt from Florida's offense. Had Arkansas made the comeback, it would have tied the FBS record as the largest comeback in history (tying 2006 Michigan State over Northwestern).

CRAZY STAT OF THE NIGHT

Arkansas was 7 for 7 on 4th down while being only 3-14 on 3rd down. The Razorbacks also managed to drop 13 passes.

UP NEXT

Florida will put its undefeated record on the line as they play rival #15 LSU (3-1).

Arkansas will look to end the losing streak on the road against South Carolina (1-2).
