Panthers Bite Bears

Season Report Posted: November 09, 2008 16:36

One word can describe Saturday's game between #10 Pittsburgh and #13 Baylor:

Blowout...

A 48-10 blowout.

This much anticipated showdown at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field turned out to be nothing more than a tune-up for the defending national champions. Pittsburgh came out of the tunnel with much energy, something the Bears forgot in Waco.

The Panthers looked reminiscent of last year's team, flying around the field with an aggressive defense that forced five interceptions. Those five interceptions came by the hand of true freshman quarterback Brandon Considine, who for the first time all season met a hard-nosed defensive team.

Unfortunately, Considine could never find a groove in the passing game. In addition, Pitt's defensive front caused problems for Baylor all game long, leaving the Bears in long yardage situations for most of the game.
