Official CSU Singing Day

February 6, 2010

Season Report Posted: November 29, 2010 03:07

California State has signed its class for 2010 and it is by far its best class ever. Of course it helps being Division 1 FBS for the first time in school history. The headlining sign for Coach Petersen and his staff is none other than his son and four time Texas Player of the Year ATH Chase Petersen. Chase won four state championships at Prosper High School in Prosper, Texas and was named Gatorade Player of the Year his Junior and Senior season. Chase has started at school in the spring semester and will join the team for spring practice. He will surely be named the starting Quarterback for the opening ball game against Montana, and he is already the best QB in school history without ever taking a snap. CSU had many other key signings that should help the team compete in Coach Petersen's first season along with the team dramatically improving in talent in the past couple of seasons. Altogether the first season as a FBS School for California State should be an exciting one with a lot of national buzz.

Win Number One

Game Report Posted: December 01, 2010 14:55

San Diego, CA-- The Coach Petersen Era got off to a bang as the California State Lions got the first win in their school history after three years of 0 win seasons. Everybody knew it would be a blow out when Coach Pete's son Chase took the first CSU play from scrimmage for six points, and it was a romp from then on. Everybody got in on the act in this one as four rushers scored a TD and Garrison, who could prove to be the top return man in the nation, took back a punt for a TD. The Lions gained a school record for rushing yards in a game and they are well on their way to a school record for rushing yards in a season. Coach Petersen tried to downplay the victory after the game saying it is "only one win, and we are going to face 11 opponents better than the team we just faces." Next week CSU will take on their new rival San Diego State with whom the share a city with. The SDSU game will be a great measuring stick for the Lions to see if they are indeed the real deal.

Lions Name New Head Coach

January 9, 2010

Season Report Posted: November 29, 2010 02:52

With the new year just beginning the California State University Lions have decided to begin a new era with their football team. Bob Saget led the Lions for the program's first three season, but after never managing a win Saget was fired following the season and a search began to find a replacement as the school moves up to Division 1-A. The university issued statement saying "Bob has done a great job in taking this program from nothing, but moving up to the FBS Division calls for a coach with real college football coaching experience, which Bob didn't have and it showed in his three seasons. We thank Bob for his dedication and hard work and we wish him much success in the future. The search for the schools second coach will begin immediately and will be nation wide. Candidates will be whittled down and the extensive process will include nearly every Head Coach and Coordinator in the country." Today that search has come to an end and the Lions have chosen Air Force Offensive Coordinator Chuck Petersen to lead CSU to the 1-A level as the team heads into the WAC. Ironically today is Coach Petersen's son, Chase Petersen who is the top recruit in the nation, birthday. Chase had previously committed to Florida, but with his dad being named head coach has decided to attend California State and start school in the spring to join the team for Spring Practice. After Coach Petersen was named Head Coach he released a statement which read, "I am very excited and honored to be the head coach of California State. I have huge plans for this football program and am excited with the steps they have already taken and are willing to take in the future. The athletic facilities here are tops in the nation and the money flowing in from boosters will keep this program growing. This program hasn't achieved much success on the field in its first three years, but I am going to change that. This team has the ability to compete right now in any conference in the country and we are going to prove that right now. My goals are to win this conference and go to bowl games and eventually move up into a bigger conference and win that and go to bigger bowls. But for that to happen my staff, my players, and I are going to have to work very hard and that work is going to start right now. Thank you."
