Oregon wins thriller on final play of game!

It was an exciting back and forth battle from the opening kickoff down the final play of the game. In the end, it was a Fresno State dropped pass in the end zone that cost Fresno State an upset win in Oregon.

Fresno State's defense struggled to get Oregon off the field all night on 3rd down. At one point Oregon had converted 12-of-14 3rd downs.

The Bulldog defense came up big in the 4th quarter and got a stop with 0:46 seconds left in the game to force a punt.

Fresno State got the ball at their own 43 with 0:38 seconds left and drove down to the Oregon 6 with 0:16 seconds remaining with a 1st and goal.

After 2 incompletions, Fresno State found a wide open wide receiver Marlon Moore in the back of the end zone uncovered. Oregon had blown an assignment and no one was within 10 yards of Moore. Brandstater threw a perfect dart that looked to be an easy TD. Moore somehow dropped the pass bringing up 4th down with 0:06 left in the game from the Oregon 6.

The 4th down play never had a chance and Brandstater threw an interception to end the game in the end zone.

"What an amazing game. I am just drained. I am so proud of the way we played. This is what football is all about," said a disappointed Pat Hill.

Fresno State's offense had their best day of the season and that was in large part because of the play of Brandstater. The junior QB threw for 308 yards and 2 TDs but his most impressive drive of the game was the final drive of the game.

Brandstater completed 3 passes in a row to drive the Bulldogs to the Oregon 6 in the final minute of the game. He made a perfect pass on 3rd down that should have won the game with 0:06 seconds left but the wide open received dropped the strike.

Brandstater threw 3 interceptions but the first was a Hail Mary at the end of the 1st half and the 3rd was a 4th down pick to end the game in the end zone.

Fresno's ground game struggled for the second game in a row and is a concern.

The defense gave up 452 yards but came up big in the 4th quarter with huge stops.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 1-2.

Fresno State has a bye next week and must regroup and prepare for their WAC opener against Louisiana Tech.
