Buckeyes Now Part of the Country's Elite Teams

Game Report Posted: November 13, 2009 01:24

The colllision was exactly that: a tough nose football game with big players making big plays! The game started out as a defensive battle as neither team could put it in the endzone in the first quarter. The game started to open up and Usc punished the Buckeyes on the ground in the 2nd quarter to take a 16-13 lead at the half.

Osu continue to fight and tied the game at 23 after the 3rd. Both teams rose to the pressure of the 4th quarters and the defenses dominated once more. Osu defensive end Gibson made a huge hit on rb McKnight deep in Usc territory to cause a fumble setting the only and game winning score of the quarter.

The Buckeye wins vaults them into #2 in the coach's poll, while Usc drops to #10. Usc will now need help to get into the BCS Championship game, while Osu seems to control their destiny.

Buckeyes Hold off Navy Rally

105,000 fans saw a late 4th quarter Navy rally that almost ended the Buckeye season before it began. Ohio St. lead by double digits midway through the 4th quarter before Navy punched it in. Navy then recovered the onside kick and came up just short.

The Navy game plan was extremely effective. Ohio State's defense could not get off the field and Navy went 3-5 on 4th down conversions. Navy controlled the clock with the run, which opened the passing game as well. Osu also lost their top WR Posey for 2 weeks.

Osu escapes and sets up next week's collision in Columbus with Usc. It will be interesting to see how the Osu offense fares without Posey.

Buckeyes Defeat Rockets; Move to 3-0

Game Report Posted: November 13, 2009 01:29

Osu controlled this game from start to finish, as expected. The potent Toledo spread attack moved the ball well, but could not convert in the red zone; where in 4 trips they scored 1 td. That just wont get it done against the #2 team in the country.

The Osu offensive got on track for the 1st time this season. Although Pryor has made big plays this season, he has struggled throwing the ball. The Toledo defense seemed to be the cure, as Pryor went 17 for 25, 204 yds, and 2 tds.

Osu opens up the Big 10 schedule next weekend with a battle against Illinois. The Illibuck always seems to be competitive.
