2013 Week 3

The UAB Blazers got a great win over the East Carolina Pirates yesterday in a game where UAB found great success for the first time since Week 1. Putting up 31 on the Pirates, the UAB offense was lights out as A.J. Erdely had another great game. He ran for UAB's first TD and besides one thrown pick in the first half didn't look back. You can't forget about East Carolina though as this was still a very close game going into the end of the 4th. The UAB defense locked up though as DT Anthony Rush forced a fumble and fellow DT Michael Wright picked it up for a 53 yard scoop and score. ECU did answer but not converting the 2-Pt conversion killed their chances as Nick Vogel kicked a 42 yarder through the uprights to seal the deal. Overall great performance from the Blazers. They now must try to somehow get a win against top 5 ranked Alabama in what will probably be a blowout, gotta stay optimistic though!. This was The Weekly Blazer, 'til next time!
