#2 USC SCORES LATE TO AVOID UPSET AT ARIZONA
#2 ranked USC scored 17 unanswered second half points to fend off the Arizona Wildcats (2-2, 0-1) and win 38-34. Down 34-21 midway through the 3rd quarter, the Trojans were able to get the ball into the endzone by way of a John David Booty quarterback sneak which made the score 34-28.
After a 3rd quarter field goal by Mario Danelo to make the score 34-31, USC was finally able to reclaim its early lead by way of a 35-yard touchdown pass from Booty to WR Patrick Turner late in the fourth quarter. Turner, a sophomore, finished the game with 4 catches for a career high 167 yards and 3 touchdowns on the day.
RB Chauncey Davis also had a terrific outing for USC, bouncing back from two games in which he struggled gaining 155 yards on 20 carries on the day.
USC (3-0, 1-0) will face #24 Washington State (3-0, 1-0) next week on the road.
