Texas Bowl honors goes to the Aggies

Utah State came out of the tunnel and was ready to play from the time of kickoff in this game. The defense held the Tigers to a quick three and out while the Aggie offense drove right down the field for a touchdown. Both teams slugged it out in the first half as they went into halftime tied up at 21.

The start of the third quarter came with Memphis kicking a field goal to take a 24-21 lead. The Aggie offense was held and forced to punt but the punt landed dead at the 2 yard line. The defense then came onto the field and had a Pontiac Game Changing Performance by tackling Pitts in the endzone for a safety. The score was only 24-23 at the time but that proved to be the turning point in the game.

The fourth quarter came and went with both teams scoring touchdowns. Both teams played very well and both defenses played very tough in the second half. But when it all came down to it the Aggies were the team to want it more. The final score ended up 36-31 Utah State.

After the game Coach McGriffLe had this to say, "Another season in the books and another bowl victory. What a game. Both teams played extremely well out there. I have got to hand it to Diondre. Boy has he come along was this year. Being thrown to the wolves in week 5 and now leading the team to a bowl win and a 5 game winning streak. With McCormick back from injury next year and Borel playing this well if will be a tough call to make. Only time will tell."
