Pine Bluff Stuns Texas A&M in Overtime
After an off-season of slow and painful slider development, yours truly was the last person to think this game would be competitive.
Aggie Stadium held its breath as Pine Bluff scored first, but then sighed in relief as TAMU rattled off 21 straight points. It seemed the whole town of College Station stopped worrying about the game, including Coach Fran's team. (Yes, Franchione is still at Texas A&M.) It appeared that the Aggies were taking the Sun Belt champs lightly.
The second problem for Franchione was that Pine Bluff was operating out of a completely different attack than they had ever used. "The witchbone," Fran was overhead as muttering into his headset. "F*ckin' witchbone." PB tied the game up by halftime.
The third problem for aTm was quarterback play. Will Porter > Collin Ford in this game, especially after Ford took a hard sack from Chris "Cow" Bell.
Finally, PB's defensive front is for real. They controlled the LOS like it was the middle of the chess board.
