Boise State Opens Strong

Boise, ID: Boise State opened the 2007 campaign strong under first year coach Jesse Slater, with a 53-7 blow-out of Weber State.

The Broncos let Weber State strike first, with the opposition driving down the field on the opening possession for a 7 yard touchdown pass from Doyle. However, the Broncos would answer strongly with 53 unanswered points, led by sophomore receiver Jeremy Childs, who earned Player of the Game honors with his 3 catches for 111 yards, and 2 touchdown receptions. Childs, along with the rest of the first-team offense, was pulled in the early third quarter.

The Bronco defense was perhaps the only weak point for Boise State, allowing the opening touchdown drive, and allowing quite a bit of running room all game for Weber State. The offense, however, played lights out all game, especially on the ground.

Up next for the Broncos is a trip to Washington to take on the Huskies, which could be the toughest match of the season for Boise State. If they are to repeat last years miracle undefeated season, they must come prepared for a tough Pac-10 team.
