2024 BCS National Championship
Florida State came into the game as underdogs to the also unbeaten Crimson Tide. Alabama's participation in this game was under heavy scrutiny as they were facing pretty severe probation sanctions by the NCAA. That aside, the Tide's talent was undeniable. Also without doubt was the playmaking ability of Heisman Trophy winner and now legendary QB Jordan Matthews. He and Biletnikoff award (and 3rd place Heisman finisher) WR Reggie Ward connected on an 80 yard pass and run within the first minute of the game. FSU held on to a close lead for much of the game as Matthews finished his illustrious career with a 29 of 43 game for 486 yard and 5 touchdowns (to 4 different receivers).
