2025 Week 2

A slow start offensively and turnovers put defending national champions Florida State in a shocking 0-27 deficit on their home turf in the opener. Having already died by the pass (4 interceptions and 9 drops), the Seminoles try to revive themselves with the pass. They do so behind the arm of QB Robbie Jones who leads them to 4 consecutive scoring drives and a 28-27 lead going into the 4th quarter. Both teams trade TDs twice and push the game into overtime tied 42-42. The TD barrage continued through the 1st OT and only when the 2nd OT came around did the offenses sputter. Houston missed a field goal, leaving the game open for the win, which the Seminoles took. Jones finished the game 38 of 59 for a school record 662 yards along with 6 TDs and 4 interceptions. Star WR Anthony Mitchell was one of 3 WRs with over 120 yards, having 11 receptions for a school record 274 yards and 2 TDs.
