Wolverines Start Season with Rival Notre Dame

Michigan Wolverines head coach Brady Hoke knows what it is like to battle a top tier team right off of the bat and he welcomes the challenge despite getting mauled by Alabama in game one last season.
Notre Dame is ranked #7 pre-season, however, with Colson gone at QB it remains to be seen if Tommy Rees can lead the Fighting Irish back to a BCS Bowl game.
Underdog Wolverines Shock South Bend

Michigan jumped out to a 17-3 halftime lead in front of a stunned crowd of Fighting Irish faithful. Devin Gardner found Jeremy Gallon on a 28 yard touchdown reception, Thomas Rawls rumbled in for a score and Gibbons added a field goal.
Notre Dame responded late in the game but it wasn't enough to force overtime, the Wolverines leave South Bend 1-0 overall and an early jump on the division as well posting a 1-0 record.
Notre Dame faces Michigan State in week 2 and Michigan will host Akron.

Wolverines Blast Mountaineers

Michigan (8-0) only lead by two scores at half but finished the game strong winning the game by 41 points shutting out the Mountaineers 41-0.
On offense the Wolverines out gained West Virginia 448-146 and dismantled the running game of WV holding them to -25 yards.
Seven different Wolverines scored touchdowns.
