Buckeyes Survive a Tough Badger Team

Through 3 quarters the Badgers kept it interesting and put fear into Ohio State. But the 4th quarter belonged to the Buckeyes who win this won 42-17.

The Badgers dominated the first half with their grind it out running game. John Clay was the star for Wisconsin going for 143 yards on 26 carries. The Bucks would start off the game with their spread attack marching right down field for an early 7-0 lead when Carter who was subbing for the injured Thomas was left wide open for a 3 yard TD pass from Pryor. Wisconsin would come right back behind the running of Clay and tie the game on a 2 yard Clay run.

The Bucks next drive saw more of the spread pasing attack which was capped off by a 21 yard TD pass to Washington to give the Buckeyes a 14-7 lead. Wisconsin's next drive would be stalled when FS Anderson Russel intercepted a pass from Tolzien and return it 66 yards for a TD giving OSU a commanding 21-7 lead.
But OSU could not stop John Clay. He would again lead the Badgers right back down the field and the Badgers would score to make it 21-14 at the half.

The first half was really dominated by Wisconsin in total yards, rushing and time of possession. But the one stat that matters was in favor of OSU.

The 2nd half was another story as Wisconsin would stall on their first drive of the 3rd and settle for a FG to make it 21-17. After that it was all Buckeyes behind 2 rushing TD's from Pryor and a 3rd TD run from Dan Herron. Wisconsin had their chances in the 2nd half, but the OSU dee came up with big stops when they needed them. Even with respectable passing numbers, Wisconsin QB and passing game let them down as Clay was the work horse but not enough to upset the Buckeyes.

The 3rd ranked Buckeyes will look to move to 7-0 next week when they travel to West Lafayette to take on Purdue
