Nittany Lions Stun Philadelphia
The hostile Philadelphia crowd could not help the Owls beat rival, Penn State. The Owl defense did their best to help out, garnering two pick sixes off true freshman QB Christian Hackenberg. The running game from Temple HB, Kenny Harper (18 car for 131 yards), also showed up, but it was not enough tin the end. Temple QB, C. Reily(4-14 for 34 yards with 1 TD, and 1 INT) did not look good in his first game of the year. On the other side of things, Hackenberg was 16-31 for 238 with 1 TD to go along with the two INT. The three headed running attack of Zwinak, Belton, and Lynch totaled 32 car. for 171 yards.Allen Robinson was only able to get 41 yards on 4 catches, but Kyle Carter had 3 rec. for 69 yards. Zanellato had the lone TD catch, his only catch of the game. Defensively for the Nittany Lions, Baublitz and Barnes each had a sack, and Daquan Davis had an INT. POG honors went to K, Sam Ficken who was 3-3 with FG and 4-4 with extra points. Renewing this rivalry was a big part of starting this dynasty and I'm glad the guys came out and took care of business.
