Weekly Report Posted: September 01, 2008 15:26
It's going to be a very uneventful week this time, with no big matchups this week. One of the more Important points is the threat issued from coach Jacob Roberts of SMU to FCS West: "We'll make up for this game. Make up for it and more." We'll see how that goes.
Bigtime Injuries around CFB:
Starting HB Lewis of Ball State is out for season with a severe concussion after taking a big hit in his last game.
Starting HB Thigpen of Indiana will be out for season after he tore some knee cartilage.
DE Davis from New Mexico is out for season from a concussion.
WR Shay Hodge from Ole Miss is out for the season after he recieved a broken collar bone.
SMU MLB McRath is out with a broken elbow.

Mustangs show why FBS and FCS are separate defeating SDSU 91-0
With the loss last week, let's see what the Mustangs did today. Here's Bob Smith:
Coming into the Stadium today, you could feel somthing in the air. It may not have been a sell out crowd, but you could tell the players were ready for action.
The Mustang defense was unstoppable, allowing only 32 yards of offense, 2 first downs, no redzone visits, and only one 3rd down conversion out of ten.
We will not go in depth into all the touchdowns in the game, but SMU scored early and often in this one. In the first quarter a rush by Martin and a Reverse by Henderson led to two SMU TDs ending the first 14-0
The second quarter was one of two scoring explosions by the Mustangs today with two TD passes from Rhodes, and two rushing TDs from Rhodes and Martin, ending the half 42-0
The third quarter had an even bigger explosion this time with 3 td passes from Rhodes, a 58 yard Martin run, and a pick 6 buy Rock dennis late in the third, ending the quarter 77-0
After losing starting MLB for 9 weeks late in the third Coach Roberts knew it was time to put in the second team. Our condolences go out to the team on their loss.
The fourth quarter had only two TDs on a pass and on a run. Final score SMU Mustangs 91 SDSU Aztecs 0
SMU is 1-1, 0-1 Conference
