No Place Like Home?

MOBILE- South Alabama came out confident, maybe a bit too confident. Saturday marked the end of South's 28 game win streak and the beginning of South's first FBS season. They were beaten 66-28 by Air Force..
"I think that we have a lot of things to work on," coach Joey Jones said in a postgame news conference. "We were just outplayed and outworked. I think that we can take this as a learning experience and grow from it."
USA got first blood with a 66 yd pass for a TD, Air Force answered with two passing touchdowns of 8 and 58 yards. South's last offensive drive of the second quarter ended with a 20 yd reception by Aaron Dorsey. Air Force was held to three points and the play of the game came next. Kelvin Fletcher returned a kickoff 103 yds for a touchdown, sending south into the locker room with momentum. It wouldn't last long.
South scored a single touchdown in the fourth quarter, while Air Force scored 35 points in the third and none in the fourth.
South plays San Jose State next, in hopes that they will be better prepared than this game.
