Ellis, Mack Shine on Senior Day; Salukis Win 10th

Southern Illinois seniors Isaiah Mack and Ryan Ellis had the perfect games on the perfect stage ... Senior Day.

The two senior offensive weapons shined for the Salukis in a 49-6 route of Cincinnati. Ellis, starting at quarterback, completed 18 of 22 attempts for 325 yards and 5 touchdowns, all career highs.

Mack, although seldom used in the first three quarters, was equally, if not more impressive. Mack quietly rushed for 115 yards through the first three quarters, but received his moment in the spotlight, as he accounted for every single yard of a late 4th-quarter 90-yard touchdown drive. Mack also set a career high for rush yards, racking of 205 on 20 carries, good for 2 touchdowns. Mack also caught 8 passes for 163 yards and 3 more touchdowns.

The Saluki defense rebounded from a shoddy performance last week against South Carolina, and had a solid game. SIU held the Bearcats to 11 first downs on 200 yards of total offense.

Southern finishes the regular season with an impressive 10 wins, to just 2 losses.

The Salukis will await a bowl invitation in the next few days.
