2007 Week 6

TIMBLEDALE, SD -- When you're up against a defense such as Timbledale, you can't blame a team for running the ball a lot.

The TCU Horned Frogs gained 300 yards on the ground, including 223 yards and 5 touchdowns rushing from junior halfback Aaron Brown in their 56-21 win over Timbledale. The Horned Frogs move to 6-0 with the win, while Timbledale drops to 0-4.

Sly Rax tried to keep the Thetas in it, though. He had 108 yards and 1 touchdown rushing, 89 yards and 1 touchdown receiving, and 112 yards returning kickoffs and punts for a grand total of... uhh... over 300 yards total offense. Well done, Mr. Rax.

Bobby Lung ended up having a solid game, even if he didn't start particularly well. At one point Lung was 8 of 18 for 102 yards, with 2 interceptions, which isn't that great. But, he finished up going 20 of 39 for 267 yards, with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Which is... meh.

The Horned Frogs jumped out of the gate in blistering fashion, with the halfback Brown rushing for 3 yard, 77 yard, and 11 yard touchdowns. Then the Thetas finally got on the board with an 8 yard run by Sly Rax with 6 seconds left in the half, making 21-7 at halftime.

But TCU scored another three touchdowns in the third quarter - a 72 yard pass, a 67 yard run, and a 15 yard run, the two runs coming courtesy of - guess who! - Aaron Brown. They even returned a Bobby Lung interception 58 yards for a touchdown before Timbledale could score again, a 34 yard pass from Lung to impact wide receiver Ray Spencer.

TCU rushed for another touchdown soon after, this time by a halfback not named Brown, but it was still 6 points. Lung rounded out the scoring with a 60 yard pass to Rax which was tipped by defenders, forwards, into Rax's outstretched arms - think the Immaculate Reception, if you need a visual. But still, the Thetas lost, 56-21.
