In a back and forth game, K Dylan Kendrick made a 35-yard field goal with five seconds left to give the lead back the Miners. They had driven down the field quickly after a 43-yard bomb by NMSU on 4th-and-18 to tie the game. The Miners are 2-0 versus New Mexico State in Ian McCully's tenure and both games have been decided by last-second Kendrick field goals.

Down 24-10 in the second quarter UTEP finished with a strong second half to rally to victory. K Dylan Kendrick made a 29-yarder with 43 second left to put the Miners ahead for good. Kendrick was 4-5 on the day. On the ensuing Mean Green possession, FS Jonathan Tompkins intercepted a pass, thus allowing UTEP to run out the clock.

FCS Northern Arizona defeats Miners on late TD

Northern Arizona (NAU) scored a late touchdown to secure a victory. The Miners were unable to score on their ensuing possession and NAU ran out the clock.
