MINERS PICK UP WHERE THEY LEAVE OFF IN 2018
The UTEP Miners kicked off the 2018 season today, and Coach Konz has the Miners in midseason form already. The team was lead by two-time Heisman winner junior running back Chad Roberson. Chad gashed the Fighting Illini defense for 248 yards and 5 TDs on 35 rushes. Senior quarterback Anthony Terrell looks to have another great season being the captain of the Miners' offense. Defensively the Miners are lead by junior safeties Eric Austin and Andrew Smith. Both players had a great day defensively leading the stout Miners' defense with 4 and 8 tackles respectively. The Miners face a huge test in week 3 in a rematch of the 2017 National Championship game with San Jose State. If the Miners play like they did today, however, they will be tough to beat throughout the season. GO, MINERS!!!
