UTSA looking to hit the ground running

A new dynasty begins in San Antonio with Coach Daryl Moore and FR QB Eric Soza. The Runners have just joined the West Division of Conference USA and are looking to make some noise early. They have quite a tough OOC with #3 Oklahoma State at home and Arizona on the road. But their conference schedule seems relatively soft. Could they capture the crown in their first season?

Soza has a big first game by tossing for 4 TDs. Defense does its job against one of the worst FBS teams in college football. A big test looms next week as the #3 Pokes roll into town.

The Roadrunners never stood a chance. The Pokes are just too good. Coach Moore just has to shrug this one off and try to get the team ready for a big game on the road.

This game was a lttile closer than the score indicates but this young team is still quite a bit off from hanging with the big boys. We should be competitive in conference play but we just suffered two humbling losses.
Huge 4th Quarter puts UTEP over UTSA, 33-20

It was a good game until our defense completely fell apart in the 4th Quarter. This one would have been a good one to win, too bad the balls didn't bounce our way.
