After the game Coach Mcgriffle had this to say, "What a great way to start off the season. Our defense played a great game. Holding te defending Mountain West Champions to only 20 points is a superb effort. Our offense struggled at times but got it together enough to get the job done. Most of our offense is young and inexperienced. We are starting 3 freshman and one junior college player. Only one senior starts on offense. Up next for us is rival BYU. We have never started off the season 2-0 and it will take a great defensive effort and our offense needs to step up."
