Pine Bluff Survives Scare

The Owls dominated this game and perhaps should have won. But their star player Ken O'Brien had back spasms early in the second half and left the game; his absence essentially derailed the Owl attack. Meanwhile, Mike Hale sucked. He threw 3 picks and missed a lot of open throws. It was the UAPB defense that won this game.

Supersimmed a punt, got the ball 1st and 10 on a 15 yard penalty.

SS Marquel Ambler and backup LB Isaiah Nolan have cleaned out their lockers. They both copped an attitude in bowl practice.
My game plan, show up and win the bowl game, did not work. Buffalo came out like a raging bull. They put the hammer down and never let up.

Backup ROLB Rupert Bailey delivered plenty of reasons for smiles in week 14. He played much of the game at left defensive end after UAPB built up a 24-0 lead in the first half, racking up an interception, 2 sacks, and 6 total tackles. Bailey is said to be related to UGA players Sean and Stacy Bailey. LB backup Nolan was also impressive with 4 deflections. Backup QB Diggs was not impressive with a pick and 4 completions on 10 throws.

It was announced today that Arkansas Pine Bluff will be rejoining the SunBelt Conference after a one year hiatus in Conference USA. University officials declined to comment but are said to be unhappy with the move. It is rumored that Tulsa University had something to do with the switch. Tulsa won the SunBelt title last season in dominating fashion, a year after being replaced in CUSA with Pine Bluff.

UAPB put a slow beating on high faluting FIU today. This game was not televised despite its importance to conference play.

WKU at 3-7 has somehow won 3 games this year.
For once it's a sunny day with fair skies at the Bluff.
WKU got up big early on against a cocky UAPB coaching staff. Then they held on with big plays at the end, forcing fumbles by Crossings and Burnett to staunch any last gasp by the Bluff.

A horrible day for the home team, despite a beautiful sunset, clear skies, mild temps and a cool breeze. A beautiful autumn day. The mosquitoes are dead, and the air is cool. But it was a slaughterhouse on the Cajun side. The untelevised game saw the Cajuns lose their starting QB, starting X WR, and starting #2 CB.
