Coach Nibble ducks out of Dallas after winning the national championship and resurfaces for his latest rehab job, in Boulder, Colo., to raise the 2-10 Buffaloes out of the dumps.

He inherits 3,000-yard passer Marcus Smith and little else on offense. The defense is stout, however, and will get Nibble's special touch to make it even tougher as Colorado returns to the Big 12.

CU 22, No. 3 SMU 16: Nibble starts his new job by facing the team from his old job. The defense picks off four passes from the defending national champs, including Sean Medley's 45-yard TD return in the first half, and leads all the way in a huge home upset.

Three straight conference losses include three straight 350-plus yard passing days by Anthony Bell, who replaces the injured Marcus Smith.

CU 29, TCU 28: David Greene throws a 12-yard TD pass to David Brady as time expires, then hits Jason Peterson on a two-point conversion off a fake PAT for the win.

It puts a happy face on a 5-7 season for the Buffs.

Anthony Bell finishes 236 of 417 for 3195 with 20 TDs and 15 INTs.

Antonio Hill rushes for 874 and 5 TDs.

Quinn Wood catches 95 for 1348 and 5 TDs; TE David Brady gets 92 for 1193 and 11 scores. David Phillips adds 34 catches.

OLB Erik Riley makes 88 tackles and OLB Brian Hicks gets 72. Chris Washington gets nine sacks.
