Colorado State 29, CU 28: Buffs blow a 20-7 third-quarter lead.
No. 1 Navy 41, CU 21: Buffs stack the line and dare the Middies to pass. They do, very, very well for 200 yards and three touchdowns in the first half.
CU 55, Oklahoma State 35: DE Darren Smith piles up five of the Buffaloes' eight sacks.
No. 12 Texas 52, CU 23: A 20-7 deficit turns into a rout in a hurry thanks to a pair of pick-sixes and a fumbled KO return.
Buffs still manage Alamo Bowl date against Utah (8-4). Cal Harrell hits freshman Aaron Williams on a 39-yard Hail Mary as time expires to give the Buffs a 34-28 victory in the bowl game. It takes some of the sting out of losing to Oklahoma in the same fashion earlier in the season.
DE Darren Smith (13 sacks) wins the Nagurski Award and Kasey Hodges is Linebacker of the Year. Harrell (3591 yards, 27 TDs, 19 INTs) makes the all-freshman team.
