Season Wrap-up

Season Report Posted: February 03, 2010 01:04

The Noles first season in the SEC was a memorable one going 13-1 while winning the conference and the Sugar Bowl. The high points were many including Kendall Smith winning LB of the year and the most All Americans in the nation. The one loss to LSU kept us out of the national title but with many of the team returning including the entire OL, QB, and RB on offense the Noles will look to improve next season. RB Jermaine Thomas set the FSU rushing record breaking Warrick Dunn's mark that he set in 1996. Now on to recruiting!

FSU gets first ever SEC win with big 3rd Quarter!

Game Report Posted: January 29, 2010 22:20

The day started with a long drive from the FSU offense that ended in an interception returned 102 yards for a touchdown. The day would get better though. After exchanging field goals FSU added 1 more with 4 seconds left in the half. The second half belonged to FSU in every facet. Two touchdowns passes by Christian Ponder, one a 68 yard bomb to tight end Jabaris Little and a 19 yard pass to Rod Owens, would extend the FSU lead. Just before the fourth quarter Korey Mangum would return an interception 29 yards for a score. The last touchdown of the day would come from running back Jermaine Thomas with a 15 yard run.

Noles shut down rival Clemson!

Game Report Posted: January 30, 2010 01:17

In one of the most dominate defensive performances of the season FSU held Clemson to just 113 yards of total offense (48 on the ground and 65 through the air). Clemson was an abysmal 0-11 on 3rd down and could not convert either of their 2 fourth down tries. Their only points came in the 3rd quarter off a Christian Ponder interception that was turned into a field goal. The Noles scored on their first drive of the game when Ponder hit Rod Owens for a 41 yard touchdown. Dustin Hopkins added a late first quarter field goal and with a 1:37 left in the half Jermaine Thomas ran in from five yards out to send the Noles to the locker room with a 17 point lead at the half. JT added his second rushing touchdown of the day when he scored from 15 yards out with 4:04 left in the game to put it away.

Welcome to the SEC!

Welcome to the SEC is exactly what LSU said to Florida State when they beat them 20-0 this past Saturday. After being harassed all day to the tune of 5 sacks Christian Ponder struggled mightily going 18 of 36 with 5 interceptions 2 of which were returned for touchdowns. The FSU defense did all it could do but was just put in horrible situations by the offense all day.

All bark no bite!

It was all Noles all day in Tallahassee today as number 14th ranked FSU beat Georgia like a "dawg". Christian Ponder had another stellar day as he threw for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns but more importantly no interceptions. I would go through the scoring but lets just say the noles dominated every part of this one.
