Big Win at Home

The Fighting Illini are overjoyed after a home win against arch-rival Missouri
The Illini started the year off right beating down their Rival Missouri. Illinois didnt turn over the ball once and overall had a pretty clean game. Juice Williams looked sharp and Dufrene looked alright until he got knocked out of the game in the third quarter. Benn is on pace for another great year and Fayson had a great start to his Career at Illinois. The defense looked a little shaky but should improve with time. Jefferson stepped into the starting job at MLB and played valiantly recording 10 tackles and earning Big Ten Defender of the week honors.

Illinois prepares for #6 Missouri
Tomorrow the Illini will look to start the season off with a bang again as they will take on #6 Missouri. This should be a very good and it is hard to say who will win as both teams are equally talented. This game could come down to who makes the least mistakes, so hopefully Juice Williams has worked on his issues this off-season.

2009 season underway

Season Report Posted: October 02, 2008 21:42

The second year wiht coach Camara leading the squad will start this Saturday. Hopefully they can follow up on the magical season they had last year. We caught up with coach Camara and asked him some questions.

Coach, how do you plan to replace Will Judson?
Will Judson was an amazing talent for us last year and had a record setting year. This year in his absence we plan to get the ball to Benn more because he is just as explosive. Also watch-out for Jaed Fayson who will be eligible this year after sitting out last year because of his transfer from Florida.

What was your reasoning for moving Jeff Cumberland back to TE
Last year we moved him to WR but in the end he didnt get the amount of touches we think he aught too. He is very talented and as a TE we feel that he will make a huge impact.

You lost both starting MLB, how do you plan to replace them?
This is probably our biggest question mark coming into this year. We lost Sam Carson and Brit Miller. But we feel Jefferson who started multiple games last year when Brit Miller went down can step in and play well. Also we moved Rakheem Smith from FB back to Linebacker and he is slated to start.

The Illini are rated #4 in the nation, do you expect a NC this year?
A National Championship would be amazing for this program but i cant worry about that right now. Right now i am worrying about Mizzou and winning the Big Ten

Predictions
11-1 (7-1)
