The way the game started it, it looked as if the final score would be in triple digits, but that was not the case. Kent and NIU were neck and neck going into half with the score 28-24 with Kent winning. The players came out of the locker room with all intentions of keeping the 1st half pace. However, both teams defenses picked up the intensity by forcing each team to go 4 and out the whole 3rd quarter and into the 4th with the game still tied 28-24. With 6:06 reaming, Star runner Aaron Flowers beasted his way for a 23 yard TD, breaking many tackles on the way. Not to be out done though, NIU had marched to Kent St 10 yard line, where Mike Brown ran a 10 yard run, and a 2 pt conversion.
