Missed Opportunities Sink Miami

The Miami Hurricanes saw their hopes of a second consecutive undefeated season drift away this afternoon, losing 21-20 to the 16th ranked Florida Gators.
Miami was plagued all day by turnovers and missed opportunities. The Canes turned the ball over 3 times and also failed to capitalize on several UF mistakes. Miami led for most of the day yet in the end the game slipped away. The Miami defense had another solid outing, producing 4 turnovers including 2 fourth quarter interception while Florida was driving for the win.
The Gators finally did make it into the endzone with :39 left in the game. The Canes' subsequent drive was squandered even after a 41 yard first down pass to Terrell Raymond set the Canes up at the Florida 49. Marshall Cook threw an interception on 4th and 23 to seal the win for the Gators. Miami fans will also surely be questioning the decision by Coach CD to kick a field goal on 4th and goal from the Florida 1.
Overall it was a sobering day for the Miami faithful. The Hurricanes still control their own destiny in the ACC title race, but their quest for a second straight national title has certainly been dealt a heavy blow.
