| It is impossible to ascertain if the name he uses is, in fact, his legal moniker. While Nwankwu was a child, his mother and his younger sister emigrated from their native Lagos and moved to Florida. A few years later, they were joined by Nwankwu and his two elder brothers. His father was unable to gain passage. A tragic shooting in Miami, said to be gang-related by the police, claimed the lives of his brothers. Nwankwu uprooted his mother and sister to Kentucky. Truth be told, his father had sold out a Nigerian terrorist organization, resulting in the capture of two of its main conspirators. Since that time, the terrorists have been hunting down the family. After the female members of the family left Nigeria, Nwankwu and his brothers attempted to free their father from the clutches of the terrorists. They were unsuccessful. Nwankwu was only 12 at the time. He took up football as a high school junior in Kentucky, attracting the attention of some scouts and recruiters. Considering a life in the spotlight to be risky, he covers his face as well as he can to avoid detection. Nwankwu Musa is a huge, talented defensive tackle and will start from day one for the decimated defensive line of the Wolverines. | |
