Lobos Recuriting Well

Season Report Posted: August 12, 2012 19:20

New Mexico finished the 2013 season on a losing note on the football field in the Armed Forces Bowl.

But, they have a great off season of recuriting. Last years recurting rank was 36th and this year the move up 4 spots overall to 32nd!

Sign key players from in state: 4 star qb Demarcus Rodgers and also another 4 star qb in Eric Grimes from Kentucky.

Year 2 of the Bomar regime was tough, but Lobos still manged to make it to a bowl game and having a winning conference record.

With a 3 year contract extension in place and contining to build depth on the roster, Lobos future looks bright.

Will the Lobos be able to keep coach Bomar beyond this 3 yr extension...

Lobos Continuing To Improve

Season Report Posted: August 03, 2012 01:13

After a successful year 1, 9-4 record, and second place MWC finish. The future looks bright for Coach Bomar and the Lobos.

First year recuriting class was ranked 36th and many of the freshmen will be expected to finish. Not a lot of depth on the Lobo squad right, especially at defensive tackle and defensive back. Start recurit Robert Tremblay(ath) will get the nod over senior qb David Vega to start the season, both will be heavily used. As Tremblay looks as if he can help in multiple positions.

The strength of schedule goes from F year 1 and up to C- in year two. Non-conference slate: UTEP, Ariz St, New Mexico st and Vanderbilt.

Year 2 will be very important to continue building depth overall.

Lobos No Match For Cougars

Game Report Posted: August 05, 2012 22:33

The Houston Cougars shut down the Lobos in all 3 phases of the game.

Lobos could not muster an inch on the ground, nor a breath of air passing wise.

Conference play opens up next week, after bye vs. Nevada.

Lobos Knock Off Nevada

Game Report Posted: August 06, 2012 00:41

The Lobos upset Nevada for the second straight year in league play!

A close game from start to finish. But, the top rated Lobos defense steps up late in the 4th qtr as Nevada tried to bleed the clock out. But, the Lobos create a forced fumble and have one more shot at the win.

Freshman qb, Robert Tremblay connects for 60-70 yard Td to senior wr Solomon for the win!

Lobos are now .500 (3-3)
