UND Prevails In Scorefest

UND 49, San Jose State 28
It was a good day to be a Sioux fan. San Jose came to town and UND were hoping to get some revenge after an embarrassing loss last year at San Jose. They got that revenge and a little more.
Catlin Solum had one of the best days of his career, rushing for 188 yards on 20 carries and 3 TDs, including a 65 yard TD run. UND as a team ran for 285 yards. But the offense wasn't the only way UND scored. Dominique Hawkins returned an interception 45 yards for a TD.
And in what seemed like a 'deja vu' moment, Ismael Bamba returned a kick for a TD. In 2009, UND returned one kick for a touchdown, and that was against SJSU.(however it was Carl Hanson who did it in '09)
"I couldn't be more pleased with this performance. We stuck to our gameplan and what we know best. Our passing game has been sub-par so far this season, but our running game has more than made up for that. Our defense has stepped up to the plate and we are improving with every game. This year is looking very good." Coach Mussman after the game.
