2007 Week 1

Oklahoma State upset #18 Georiga Saturday 42-21. Oklahoma State led by 1st year Freshman Starting QB Matt Jahns had 451 yards total offense and 20 first downs.Even though the Offensive line struggled giving up 9 sacks Jahns still managed to throw for 212 yards and rush for 171. Georiga's offense couldn't do anything against the Oklahoma State defense they only had 92 Yards passing and 47 yards rushing. Georiga took the first lead right away on the first kickoff as the Corner back took it 85 yards for a touchdown but Oklahoma St battled back tieing it up with 2mins left in the first with a 1 yard run by Crosslin. Georiga regained the lead in the 2nd quarter with a 11 yard pass by QB #7 to WR #1 but Oklahoma State tied it back up quick with a touchdown pass of their own Jahns to Pettigrew for 11 yards. With just 1 min left in the 2nd quarter Oklahoma State had the ball at their own 5 yard line with Georiga just expecting them to run and get the half over with with the score tied 14-14 but Jahns had different plans. On 3rd and 25 Jahns dropped back to pass but couldn't find anyone open so he took off down the sideline taking it 97 yards for a Touchdown. Oklahoma St got the ball to start the half and held onto it for most of the 3rd quarter scoring with 2mins left by a 34yard touchdown pass from Jahns to Broadway on 3rd down. Georiga couldn't score until the 4th quarter when HB #20 took it 9 yards for the score. But again Jahns had an answer taking it 38yards for a touchdown with 47seconds left locking up the Victory. Oklahoma State stopped Georiga on the next drive and they added another touchdown with a 17 yard run by Crosslin.
