Terrible Bowl I: First half full of offense, second half full of nothing
Delaware pulled out to an early 21-0 lead after 3 TD passes, but Rhode Island used a long TD pass, a short TD run and a 98 yard TD run to get back in it, but UD had a 35-21 halftime lead. In the 2nd half, Marcus Green broke off a 65 yard TD run and Lake hit a field goal, but 35-31 was as close as URI could get, and UD scored a late TD sealing the Terrible Bowl I victory.
Rhode Island had 534 yards of offense, Delaware 447. 48 rush att, 409 yards for URI. Delaware passed for 359. URI turned the ball over 5 times, Delaware 4. Over 1300 total yards in this one.
