After suffering a heartbreaking loss to Duke in 2015 which dashed San Jose State's BCS hopes, motivation wasn't going to be hard to find vs. Duke this year. Heisman hopeful Lorenzo Henry carried the offense to a win yet again with 5 touchdowns and 500 passing yards to go along with 82 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Kasiree Robinson also put in 2 touchdowns on the ground and eclipsed 100 yards with 109. The receiving corps didn't miss a beat without Donavan Lee, with freshman Tremaine Felder having a breakout game with 7 catches, 166 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Junior Jason Allen had a vintage performance that has grown to be expected from him throughout his career with 6 catches, 167 yards and 1 touchdown.

Noah Micek's Spartans continue to roll by defeating Air Force 84-10, with Coach Micek getting his 2nd 80 burger of his career. Lorenzo Henry continues to ball out, with another 7TD performance through the air. "God-Like", says WR Jason Allen. This weekend was especially important for the Spartans as they had 7 visitors, including 5 stars Pete Cummings, Nate Smith, and Courtney Rouse. We reached out to Pete Cummings for a comment. "Electric. For having a small stadium, the atmosphere was incredible the entire game. I talked with Nate and Courtney, and we're so excited about the chance to play together here." Does this mean that all three are committing to the Spartans? "I can only speak for myself, but absolutely", says Cummings.
The weekend didn't come without controversy, however. Many critics are accusing Micek of running up the score on the Air Force. Micek was asked about it in the post-game, "Frankly, I don't give a damn. They disrespected us by running cover-0 thinking they could compete with us. They expect to get special treatment just because they're a service academy. They could be the God damn Taliban for all I care. I get that these conference 'rivals' are jealous of our success, but show some respect for Christssake. Really a bummer we'll be playing teams like USC and Oregon next year instead of teams like the Air Force."
San Jose State's AD responded to Micek's comments in a tweet, saying, "We stand behind Coach Micek and his comments today. The lack of respect for the team and university by the Mountain West conference is disappointing."
