GREEN COMES OFF BENCH TO TOSS TWO TOUCHDOWN PASSES AND LEAD TROJANS PAST WASU
Freshman QB Garrett Green, subbing for a struggling John David Booty came off the bench to lead USC past #24 Washington State 21-16 Saturday on the road. With his team trailing 16-7 in the third quarter, Green completed a 34-yard touchdown pass to WR Steve Smith to make the score 16-14 with :24 remaining in the quarter.
Later in the fourth, Green found WR Patrick Turner for a 14-yard touchdown with 3:47 remaining to give USC the lead 21-16. The touchdown catch was the second straight game-winner for Turner, who also caught the game-winner last week at Arizona.
Now-#1 ranked USC will take on unranked Washington next week at home.
