USC OUTLASTS ARKANSAS TO WIN OPENER 20-6 | WR JARRETT SHINES WITH 228 YARD PERFORMANCE
In a defensive struggle in which USC minimized their mistakes and took advantage of the Razorbacks', the Trojans defeated Arkansas 20-6 on the road. John David Booty, making his debut, completed 13 of his 20 passes for 329 yards and WR Dwayne Jarrett had 8 receptions for 223 yards on the day to lead #4 USC.
RB Chauncey Washington had a less-than-stellar outing taking over for the departed Reggie Bush, carrying the football for just 41 yards on 15 carries, though the speedster had a touchdown late to put the game away in the 4th quarter.
The now 2nd ranked Trojans will face #19 Nebraska next week in their home opener.
