2021 Week 17

#1 Miami (13-0) has an A- offense, a B- defense, and they are B+ overall. They are #4 in pts/gm, #4 in total offense, and #78 in total defense. #2 Alabama (13-0) has an A- offense, an A+ defense, and we're A+ overall. We are #1 in pts/gm, #12 in total offense, and #1 in total defense. The Hurricanes overtook the #1 spot after week 10. Weather: Clear with wind up to 28 mph.

K Brett White gets us on the board with a 31 yarder to make it 3-0 Bama. HB Trevor Cole scampers into the endzone on a 20 yard TD run, 10-0.

UM's Johnson scores on a 7 yard TD run; however, the XP misses, 10-6. HB Cole scores on an 8 yard TD run, 17-6 Tide.

Miami K Cooper hits a 30 yard FG just :06 into the 4th quarter, 17-9. We force Miami to punt and the ball back with 2:58 left in the game. We manage one first down, but have to punt the ball back to the Hurricanes. Miami gets the ball at their 15 with 1:08 left. On 1st down they run the draw for 11 to the 26 and go hurry up. On the next play, the receiver drops the pass over the middle, :53 left. On 2nd down the Miami QB had all day to throw, but he about threw a pick when the ball was batted down. 3rd and 10 Miami at their 26 with :48 to play. A double corner blitz on 3rd down results in a sack by CB Kyler Lyles. On 4th and 18 the Hurricanes go hurry up and run a draw against our Dime Cover 3. Their impact HB Stephens runs right with a lot of space. He dives for the first down, but FS David Miller gets just enough of him to barely stop him before he got to the marker. Turnover on downs. We run out the clock to survive this one.

This was an extremely tough game for us. We were extremely lucky to come up with a win. This win was definitely because of our defense.
