Devils Finish the Season Strong
ASU finished out the regular season on a strong note with a 42-3 blasting of Da Bears in Tempe. They were led by their stout defense (ranked #1 and #2 in the nation in points allowed and yards given up respectively) but their rushing attack made a statement. Cameron Marshal was his usual stellar self as he gained 168 yards and 3 TDs in only 3 quarters of play, but it was his backups, playing mostly behind the 2nd string O-line that were just as good. #2 guy Deonte Lewis gained 61 yards and 2 TDs on only 9 carries, while 3rd stringer Middlebrooks had 78 yards on 4 carries.
Defensively, it was the usual. They only gave up 170 yards, 100 passing yards, 0 of 8 3rd down conversions, and only allowed Cal to have the ball for 9 minutes of the game. Next the Devils will head west to Stanford for the Pac12 CCG.
