Arizona State Snags Coach Jello From Utah and Then Beats USC in LA
Under new coach Jello, ASU handled USC for most of the game until the Trojans make a last ditch effort to win. Using the ground game the Devils took a 10-0 halftime lead. On the way they lost their #4 WR/#1 KR who returned the opening kickoff 76 yards and they lost their #1 HB for the game. They also lost their #2 HB for a quarter so coach Jello was digging deep into the cupboards.
USC scrapped back to make it 19-14 with 30s to go and no time outs. They moved the ball down the field against the conservative Devil defense and got the ball to the ASU 30 yard line with 1s left on the clock. They hurried up to the line and spiked the ball but the clock ran out. However, they snapped the ball before a fat ass DT of ASU could get back across the line of scrimmage so they got 1 free shot at the end zone. The ball hit the WR in the hands in the end zone but it was jarred loose, sealing the debut victory for coach Jello.
Immediately upon hearing the good news that coach Jello had arrived in Tempe, the coaches immediately voted ASU into the top 25.
