Extraordinary frustration

Game played in TV mode (cpu/cpu)

Incredibly frustrating game to watch from the sidelines. UAPB had every opportunity to upset the Blue Raiders, and continually failed to capitalize. For instance, on UAPB's second possession, the Bluffies had the ball, 3rd and inches, at the MTSU 35, and AWL threw a pass. Incomplete. What do you do on 4th and inches? They punted! The nearly exact scenario was repeated later in the game.

The bottom line was that UAPB stayed on the MTSU side of the field for much of this game, and for much of this game kept the Raiders pinned on their side, but couldn't make it pay.

Conversely, the Bluffies had uncharacteristic big plays all game long, including an 83 yard kick return to tie the game at 7, a 58 yard pass reception by Brian Jackson, a 66 yard pass play to Matthews, and another long pass play to Matthews on 4th and 14 at our own 36 late in the game.

And the Pine Bluff defense certainly played well enough to win, better than they would have played in coach mode. What does this imply about the fill-in coach? I think that he is a defensive genius but offensively lacking.

NOTES: WR Brian Jackson, our starting flanker, got crushed on a pass over the middle and broke 12 ribs, knocking him out of games for the next 8 weeks. We will seek a medical redshirt for him.

NOTE: A. W. Lovelady completed 13 straight passes at one point, a personal and dynasty record.

NOTE: TE Frazier had many passes thrown at him today and officially was given 3 drops, but the total number of passes he didn't catch was much higher than that.
