ISU hangs in with #24 Penn State
ISU took at trip to Happy Valley to play the Nittany Lions, and the "experts" expected a beating of epic proportions, with ISU missing 4 starters from their defense.
And when PSU got the ball first and drove down the field, the experts weren't surprised. They were, however, surprised that ISU held them to a field goal. PSU scored again later in the quarter, but it appeared that a rout was coming in the second quarter, with them putting 4 TDs on the board to give them a 38-0 halftime lead.
But ISU wasn't about to give up. They came out in the 3rd quarter and put 10 points on the board to close the gap to 38-10, and were driving down the field early in the 4th to score again. PSU held at the goal line, and Coach Borman decided to go for it on 4th and goal from the 1, and was stopped. PSU RB C. Scott then proceeded to run for a 99 yard TD to put the icing on the cake. He would run for another TD later in the game to make the final score 52-10.
