ISU gives Wyoming a scare, can't hold on.

Idaho State went into Laramie, WY beat up and tired, but by gametime, they were fired up and ready to play. After ISU punted on the opening possesion, MLB Atelea Raass intercepted a pass, which led to a 37 yard Chris Erickson field goal. ISU forced another big play on defense, with Zach Rapheal recovering a fumble, and the offense drove down the field and Keith Lohse put it in the endzone from one yard out to give the Bengals a shocking 10-0 lead. That lead didn't stand for long, as Wyoming woke up from their sleep and hit a 61 yard TD pass from Jacob Doss to Marcus Franklin to end the first quarter with a 10-7 score.

ISU again punted to start the second quarter, but Micheal Harris intercepted a Doss pass, and Josh Barnett pushed it back into the endzone to regain the 10 point lead 17-7. Wyoming again came back with a TD of their own, 16 yards from Doss to Ivan Harrison. A pair of turnovers were exchanged before the end of the half, but neither led to anything, and the teams went to halftime at 17-14.

The teams exchanged punts to open up the second half, but Wyoming got back on the board first when Scott Parker hit a 30 yard field goal to tie the game at 17. Idaho State had to punt again, but held Wyoming to a 4th and 2 on the ISU 42 yard line. The Cowboys lined up in a punt formation, but attempted to pass the ball for a first down, but failed, give the Bengals great field position to start the 4th quarter.

ISU capitalized on that field position and turned in a FG to take a 23-20 lead. Wyoming's attempt to answer was foiled by SS Micheal Harris's second INT of the game. Unfortunately, the enthusiasm didn't last long, as QB Matt Hagler gave the ball right back to the Cowboys throwing an interception to Luke Chase. Wyoming got the ball moving down the field a little bit, but Harris stepped up again and made his third interception of the game. Could ISU hold on for the biggest upset in school history? They picked up a couple first downs, but were forced to punt with 2:30 left in the game. Wyoming then drove down the field, and with 53 seconds left, backup QB Karsten Sween found Justin Marsh in the endzone from 12 yards away to give the Cowboys a 24-20 lead. ISU got the ball back and tried to get down the field to score a TD. They completed a bomb to Akilah Lacey to the 26 yard line with 8 seconds left and no timeouts. The coaching staff decided to take their shots to the endzone. Hagler had 5 WR from the shotgun, and tried to get it to Barnett, but over threw him with one second left. They tried it again, this time throwing it up to Lacey in the endzone, but the ball fell to the ground incomplete, and Wyoming snuck out with a 24-20 win.
