Tale of Two Halves

Philadelphia, PA - After a huge win over rivals Louisville last week, Kentucky nearly stumbled to QB Adam DiMichele and the Temple Owls, but a 20 point second half and stellar goal line defense gave the Wildcats the 20-16 win.

The first half was all Temple, especially QB Adam DiMichele. The senior was actually a perfect 11/11 passing, and the Owls led 10-0. After both teams exchanged field goals to open up the third, Kentucky's offense finally showed some life. Speedy WR David Jones burned his defender and a great pass from QB Curtis Pulley resulted in a 78 yard throw and catch TD. Huge momentum boost for Kentucky, especially their defense, who held Temple to zero points the rest of the game.

Temple did however make a late game run. Trailing 20-16, QB Adam Dimichele, who was an impressive 19/23 for 228yds, organized a 10 play, 67 yard drive lasting three and a half minutes. The Owls actually made it to the one yard line, but a fired up Wildcats defense knocked them back and then sacked Dimichele on 4th and goal.

For the first time in his entire NCAA career, Coach J.Camp had three defenders record 10+ tackles in one game. OLB J Williams had 12 tackles & a sack and FS Marcus McClinton & MLB Braxton Kelley each had 10 tackles.

Kentucky improves to 2-0 but remain unranked. Next week they travel to take on #20 Alabama(2-0) as SEC play begins.
