Derrick Williams Defeats Temple
Temple would get the ball to start out the game, but after a couple first downs would be forced to punt. That would begin a long, long day for Temple, as Derrick Williams would field the punt and take it 69 yards to put Penn State up 7-0. Temple would get a quick answer though, as Jason Harper would take an option pitch and go 72 yards to tie the game at 7. The Penn State offense would control the ball on their first possesion, taking a lot of time and plays to get downfield, scoring on a 30 yard FG from Kevin Kelly.
After a Temple punt, the Nittany Lions would get another drive going. This one would end poorly for the Lions though, as backup LB Lamar McPherson would pick off a Daryll Clark pass. Temple would get nothing out of it, however, as they'd punt, and PSU would score on a 1 yard pass from Clark to TE Mickey Shuler. DiMichelle would throw an INT to Sean Lee on the next drive, but nothing would come of it and the halftime score would be a respectable 17-7 Penn State.
The second half would be less respectable for Temple. It started with a 9 yard Evan Royster TD. Then Clark to Dion Butler. Then Clark to Derrick Williams. Finally, the 3rd quarter would end with a TD pass from Clark to Jordan Norwood. Going into the 4th quarter, it would be 45-7, and it would stay that way until the game ended with a Penn State victory in Happy Valley.
