The Game

Tennessee and Vanderbilt squared off under the lights of Neyland for another epic battle in this recently Commie rivalry. Vanderbilt was coming into the game 5-5 and needing this game to get bowl eligible. Tennessee wanted this game to help solidify a second place finish in the SEC East race.

Vanderbilt had grown to expect this game to go their way, after all they had a sixteen game win streak. Then the game started and Vandy realized what a #17 ranked Tennessee team can do.

On the first drive of the game. Vandy had the ball and managed to gain no yards and punted. On the punt return Thomas McIntosh decided to become awesome and take the ball back for a 7-0 lead. Once again Tennessee forced the Commie drive to come to a halt and got the ball back.

On this new Tennessee drive, the Vols Patrick Herman hit Senior WR Doug Walker for a touchdown. Tennessee was quickly up 14-0. The Vols looked crisp and sharp, and had the eye of the tiger.

After that touchdown, the Vols didn't have much going in-terms of touchdowns, but managed to get more points. The Vols had two solid drives and yielded six points going in to half with a 20-0 lead.

Vandy forced a Vol drive to come to an end and mustered a whopping zero points and punted back. Tennessee took advantage and marched down field. Senior fullback, William Austin punched in the touchdown to take a 27-0 lead.

The fourth quarter was a quiet one for Tennessee and an active one for Vandy. Tennessee mustered three points and got a 30-0 lead. Then, Vandy got crazy mad and marched. They took two drives and marched down the field and got one touchdown on a fourth down. Now the shut out was blown all to bits. Coach Batten still didn't put in the reserves but the first string was on the field so long the second string came in on the second and final drive of the game for Vandy. Vanderbilt finally decided they didn't want to play in a bowl and lost for the first time since 2008 to Tennessee. They lost 30-13 and Vol fans couldn't contain themselves again.

"I am happy for the seniors that were here from the beginning. They finally taste victory over the Commies. Patrick Herman managed the game well and did not force any passes like the other QB's have done. I am proud of the effort by my Vols." said Coach Batten.

In other news #1 Ohio State lost to #8 Michigan 39-37, a possible Fielding Blue siting?
