2006 Week 2

The UL-Monroe Warhawks marched into Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas and walked away with another victory in the win column. Not much more can be said about this game except that the Warhawks came ready to play. Lancaster once again performed excellently and Dawson provided the ground game that will be necessary throughout the season from his halfback spot. The defense, led by redshirt sophomore Josh Thompson and senior Harry Bradley, held the Jayhawks to 282 yards in total offense and were stout for the entire game. Cornerback Chaz Williams was responsible for holding Jayhawks top receiver Brian Murph to 4 catches for 27 yards. The Warhawks and Coach Banner will be back in Monroe for a full week of practice to prepare to face Kenneth Darby and the #25 Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa this Saturday.
