OFFENSIVE MVP
QB Michael Eubank, Sr. -- Arizona State fans had all but forgotten about the former 4-star recruit after he was buried on the depth chart for the previous 4 seasons (one a redshirt year). Eubank emerged from a preseason position battle to take the reigns of what would become the 2nd ranked scoring offense in the nation, putting up 4436 total yards and 45 TD's in winning both the Maxwell and Walter Camp awards.
DEFENSIVE MVP
DE Matt Larkin, Sr. -- Larkin was a one man wrecking crew for an otherwise dismal defense, facing double and sometimes triple teams on nearly every down. Despite this, he racked up a conference leading 26 TFL's and 12 sacks en route to winning the Lombardi Trophy and being named 1st Team All-American.
NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
K Derrick Hill, Fr. - Hill, the only freshman on the team's two deep, was excellent in his first season, converting 10-13 FG's and nailing all 75 XP attempts.

Arizona State loses Sun Bowl 38-21 to Florida State

EL PASO -- The Sun Devils never got on track offensively against a stout Florida State defense, putting up just 295 yards of offense. Senior QB Michael Eubank - the Maxwell and Walter Camp Award winner - was responsible for a large chunk of those yards, as well as all 3 TD's. His efforts were not enough, though, as he got very little help from D.J. Foster and the Sun Devils defense.
The loss caps a disappointing end to the season, a stretch that saw the Sun Devils drop 5 of their final 7 games.

TEMPE -- Led by QB Michael Eubank's 6 TD's (5 pass, 1 rush), the Sun Devils' offense scored early and often in a thorough beat down of their in-state rival. The victory reverses a recent trend that saw Arizona win 5 of the last 7 meetings and claim an increasing amount of national attention. That attention will now shift towards the Sun Devils, who clinched the South division thanks to today's victory and USC's loss. They will face Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship Game, the first time they have played in the Championship Game since the conference moved to 12 teams in 2011.

PALO ALTO -- It's been a dream first season for Coach Jon Landrum, but the Pac-12 championship was nothing but a nightmare. The talent gap between the two teams was quickly evident, as Arizona State was down 27-0 in the first half before making the final score appear far more competitive than the actual game.
Arizona State heads into bowl season at 8-5. A win would give them their best season since 2007.

LOS ANGELES -- QB Michael Eubank was taken to the locker room late in the 2nd quarter and would not return. Without their leader, the offense was simply not capable of making up for an anemic defensive performance that saw the Bruins consistently move the ball up and down the field.
Eubank's injury is not thought to be serious. With a bye between now and the matchup with Arizona, there is the expectation that he will be able to play.
The loss is the Sun Devils' third in their last four games, dropping them one game behind both Arizona and USC in the Pac-12 South. They face Arizona in two weeks for their annual rivalry game, but will need some help from USC.

TEMPE -- D.J. Foster posted 170 yards rushing, 57 yards receiving, 83 kick return yards, and 49 punt return yards - a total of 359 all-purpose yards - as Arizona State overcame 3 turnovers to earn their seventh victory of the season.
The Sun Devils remain in a first place tie with Arizona in the Pac-12 South.

SEATTLE -- Arizona State looked like they would cruise to another easy Pac-12 win after taking a 21-6 lead into halftime, but a subsequent 23-0 Huskies run and a failed two point conversion with 2:24 left sent them to their second defeat of the season. Much of Washington's second half success came through the air, where they gained 355 total yards.
The loss is the Sun Devils' first conference loss of the season and drops them into a first place tie with Arizona in the South division. Overall, they are 6-2.

TEMPE -- QB Michael Eubank threw for 395 yards and 3 TD's and added 81 yards and a TD on the ground, but it wasn't enough to push Arizona State past Oregon's offensive onslaught. A 26 point second quarter proved to be the decisive factor for the Ducks in an otherwise evenly played contest.
The Sun Devils (6-3) have now lost two consecutive games - both conference games - but stay tied for first in the Pac-12 South thanks to Arizona's loss to USC. The Trojans also have 2 conference losses, but lost their meeting with Arizona State earlier in the season.

SALT LAKE CITY -- QB Michael Eubank tallied 423 yards and 4 TD's passing, including the game winning 36 yard strike to Charlie Morris with just 0:43 left in the game. The Sun Devils led 28-17 at the half before Utah scored the next three TD's to gain control of the game. Eubank took over from there, leading two late scoring drives - including the game winner - to push Arizona State to 6-1 on the season.
The victory makes Arizona State bowl eligible for the first time since 2012, and helps them retain sole possession of first in the Pac-12 South.

TEMPE -- QB Michael Eubank went to the locker room early in the 2nd quarter and would not return after suffering concussion-like symptoms. The Sun Devils were leading 14-0 at that point, following a pick-six by CB T.J. Johnson and would hold on for the victory despite an uninspired showing on both sides of the ball.
Eubank is officially listed as questionable for next week's visit to Utah, where the 5-1 Sun Devils will look to maintain their 1 game lead over rival Arizona in the Pac-12 South.

TEMPE -- Things started in typical fashion for Arizona State, who has lost 14 of the last 15 meetings with USC. A lost fumble on the opening drive, two quick USC touchdowns, and a deathly quiet Sun Devils stadium gave the appearance of "business-as-usual" when it comes to this conference rivalry. 62 points later, it was anything but.
Led by a powerful running attack (316 yds) and senior QB Michael Eubank's six TD's (3 pass, 3 rush), the Sun Devils completely dominated the remaining three and a half quarters of the game, making a big statement to the Pac-12 in the process.
The win moves them to 4-1 on the season, which already exceeds their win total from each of the last two seasons.

TEMPE -- Any thoughts of a let-down performance on the eve of USC's visit next week were quickly dispelled, with senior DT Derek Capps leading an inspired effort that resulted in six Nevada turnovers.
The win moves Arizona State to 3-1 on the season, matching their win total from each of the last two seasons. They'll have an opportunity to net a net a momentum building win next week when USC visits.

PULLMAN -- Senior QB Michael Eubank racked up 451 total yards (375 pass, 76 rush) and 4 TD's (3 pass, 1 rush) to give Coach Jon Landrum a win in his first Pac-12 game. The Sun Devils fell behind 14-3 after the first quarter, but quickly turned things around with 21 points in the second. In total, they netted 569 yards of total offense, 30 first downs, and converted an astounding 12 of 16 third down attempts.

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State's defense controlled the game throughout, limiting Arizona State to just 317 yards of total offense and 3 red zone trips. The Sun Devils didn't get on the scoreboard until mid-way through the 3rd quarter, but couldn't mount any kind of sustained comeback threat.

TEMPE -- Senior D.J. Foster ran for a school record 5 TD's and fellow senior Michael Eubanks racked up 399 total yards and 5 TD's to start the Jon Landrum era with an impressive 70-21 victory over New Mexico. The Sun Devils will face a much stiffer test next week when they face Michigan State in East Lansing.
