WHIT A GAME!
Anyone who has followed Baylor this year knows who their offensive stars are. All-world WR Dominique Zeigler, strong armed QB Shawn Bell, workhorse power back Paul Mosley & the duo of Trent Shelton & David Gettis supporting Z in the receiving game. But over the 1st half of the season, Coach Juggs has realizied the big play potential of Jr RB Brandon Whitaker, a fast & shifty little 5'10/192 do everything kind of player. Coach has been trying to work him into the offense a little more every game, giving him a few more sets to get carries and naming him the #1 returner. Today, Whitaker made him look like a genius.
Despite only getting 13 touches, he amassed nearly 300 total yards of offense, including a 65 yd Punt Return TD, a 27 yd rushing TD & a school record, 94 yard run inwhich he showed his speed as he took a pitch, made 1 juke, then outraced the entire Kansas defense down the sideline. He did everything today & his 3 scores propelled the Bears to their 1st conference win of the season, ending a 3 game losing streak in the process.
